Look to the right of the trees, around eight seconds in you should see something running in the brush.

In researching the presence of leprechauns, I came across many stories and even videos of claiming, or showing, the existence of these small men dressed in green. To be honest, I think the videos are a hoax and nothing more than merely animals running or people attempting to get publicity. If there were to be some kind of leprechaun, I would think it would be an Irish man with dwarfism attempting to be something he is not; a leprechaun. With the information found, I've concluded these creatures are not real.

Whether you believe in leprechauns or not, there are some people that do believe in their existence; even claim to possible sightings. Some seem to be mass sightings of these creatures. Such as in the case of Mobile Alabama where many people in the community claimed to have seen these little green men running around and hiding in trees. I personally believe that this is just a way that a group of people to get themselves on television though.

While researching stories about leprechauns, I had come across two that I liked particularly. I prefered them because they were short and simple, yet stayed within the guidelines of what the stereo-typical leprechaun was thought to be.
In A True Tale, by Molly Cogan, a grandfather that was in a barn came across a leprechaun who had been making a shoe. After comfronting and catching him, Grandfather demanded gold. Using quick wittedness, a trait these mythical creatures are often known for, the leprechaun was able to deceive and ecsape from the clasp of Grandfather's hand and run freely.
The Legend of the Leprechaun (Amon) tells that leprechauns are mysterious fairies that are lonely, miserable, and keep to themselves. Making shoes for a living; saving all their money in a pot at the end of a rainbow, and not spending any of their earnings. They are tricky creatures; taking your eyes off them for only a second will only leave you to be alone. However catching him and learning his secrets may gain you wealth and luck.

Most things, I believe, can be logically explained using science. whether its how rain may fall from the sky, or how objects may spontaneously combust and be consumbed by fire. Leprechauns have been told of in stories for many generations as mythical creatures; spending their time making and mending shoes, and playing practical jokes on the unexpecting person.
People claim to have seen leprechauns, allowing me to investigate this topic and attempt to scientifically prove there existence, or disprove it all together.

Leprechauns' ancestry is said to have come from a magical race of people; Tuatha De Danaan. They arrived in Ireland on magical floating ships and wearing red, not green, suits. Spending most of their time alone, they made shoes, played music, and occasionally drank together at evening parties (Polaski). They continued to live there in peace for hundereds of years untill the Celts arrived. The Celts and leprechauns did not get along, and soon fighting began. The leprechauns with their sling rainbows eventually proved to be no match for the Celt's iron swords (Briggs).
